tamiz meanings of Aryam.

Some of the given meanings have been affected by the theory of Aryan Migration into India.

Where do we go from here? When you come across the much confused and confusing term arya, just try to infer the meaning from the context.

Ariyam : this term is in the Tamil format.

There certainly have been migrations into India from east and west (as well as the North) but there is no evidence that such migrants were people called Aryans. This is the correct position with regard to the migration theories.

The Tamils referred to lands of the north as Ariam. This usage is different and independent of the theories of the Europeans and it predated the said theories.

The Tamils referred to some dances as Ariyakkuuththu. This is a third dimension of the term Ariam. This I have explained is a different term and a homonym of the word Ariam. Etymology explained in a post supra

Cereals are also called Ariam. This word comes from ari which means arisi or rice. ari+am =ariam > Ariam. This again is another dimension of the word Ariyam. This is a homonym to the words enumerated above.
Thus there is a mix up and you have to sort things out for yourselves to comprehend things correctly.

Ariya mannan simply means a North India mannan. This is more a reference to place than to a race.

Iranian scholars deny that there has been any migration to Iran from Central Asia. This means that they dispute an essential part of the migration theories put forward by the European scholars:

In historical records, Central Asia has been mentioned as the land of Sakas, Masagets, Touran, Soghd, Kharazm, Khiveh, and Turkistan, none of which words has any relation to the word Aryan.

Paleontology is one of the sciences that confirm the formation of the white race in I(r)an. The Homosapiens evolved from its Neanderthal ancestors in a 30,000- year process between 50,000 to 20,000 years ago. In the Hutu and Kamarband caves near Behshahr, Iran, bones of men from different historical periods have been found, showing that a kind of human race has continuously dwelled in this area and evolved, meaning that there has been no migration.

No evidence for a Proto-Indo-European (as opposed to Indo-Iranian) ethnic name like “Aryan” has been found; it would be impossible ever to find such evidence because at the time of the Proto-Indo-Europeans, writing had not yet been invented—at that time, among the Proto-Indo-Europeans, all information was transmitted to subsequent generations by bards.

The Mongol conquest of Iran in the thirteenth century and the prior Arab Conquest (7th c ) may have ended any “ethnic purity” in the Iranians……If they are Ariyans, any purity left them after these conquests?

When the Sumerian kingdom was established in the southern most section of Mesopotamia, many tribes had already been settled and were in early stages of state building. The apparent trade between the Dravidian civilisation of the Indus Valley and Sumer passed through the territories of these small states

Also consider:

ari = rice in Malayalam. (uncooked rice.)
Tamil arisi: the -si at the end is a suffix. Root word is ari, but better preserved in Malayalam.
arisi > berasi > beras (Malay language) = uncooked rice.

ari (vb) means cutting into small pieces or naturally occurring granules. “arithal”. Thus ari means grains. From the same root ari, you get Ariyam or Ariam. This last homonym I am enumerating is from Tamil root ari.

“இந்த வெங்காயத்தைக் கொஞ்சம் பொடிசா அரிஞ்சு கொடு….”

eer ar

PIE *are- “to plow” > Gk. aroun, > L. arabilis, from arare “to plow,”
O.C.S. orja, Lith. ariu “to plow;” Goth. arjan, > O.E. erian, M.Ir. airim, Welsh arddu “to plow;” O.N. arþr “a plow”) >O.Fr. arable erable, from O.E. erian “to plow.” > arable – “suitable for plowing”

Not strictly following the pedigree flow. Just compare.

தமிழில் ஏர் என்று ஒரு சொல் உண்டு;

சுழன்றும் ஏர்ப்பின்னது உலகம்.

Could this word Ariya, arya have descended from ஏர்?

Aryan is usually pronounced by Western people as “ஏரியன்”.

3. தமிழில், ஆர் என்ற அடிச்சொல், பன்மை விகுதியாகவும், பணிவுப்பன்மை விகுதியாகவும் பயன்படுகிறது.
